There are several types of optical fibers that are used for lighting, including:

1/Solid core PMMA fibers:

These fibers have a solid PMMA core and are used for general lighting applications, such as fiber optic curtains, chandeliers, and decorative lighting.

 

2/End-lit PMMA fibers:

These fibers have a solid PMMA core with a polished end that is illuminated by a light source, such as an LED or a halogen lamp. They are used for lighting applications that require bright, focused light, such as downlighting, accent lighting, and fiber optic star ceilings.

 

3/Side-glow PMMA fibers:

These fibers have a solid PMMA core with a roughened surface that scatters light along the length of the fiber. They are used for lighting applications that require a diffuse, uniform light source, such as fiber optic signs, displays, and sculptures.

 

4/Large core MMA fibers:

These fibers have a larger core diameter than standard PMMA fibers and are used for applications that require higher light transmission, such as underwater lighting, architectural lighting, and landscape lighting.

 

5/Multi-strand optical fiber:

Consists of multiple strands of optical fibers bundled together. Each strand is typically very thin,with a diameter ranging from a few hundred microns to a few millimeters.One of the main advantages of multi-strand optical fiber for lighting is its flexibility and versatility in installation
