FAQ

1.Is fiber optic heat resistant?

The conventional optical fiber is not heat resistance, usually the operation temperature is below 80℃ , and therefore, is not suitable for use in high-temperature environments.

2.Can fiber optic cable catch fire?

Since fiber-optic cable doesn't carry electricity, we don't worry about electrocution. Similarly, we don't worry about fire because fiber-optic cable isn't a source of heat or combustion.

3.What does plastic do to optical fibers?

Plastic optical fiber (POF) or polymer optical fiber is an optical fiber that is made out of polymer. Similar to glass optical fiber, POF transmits light (for illumination or data) through the core of the fiber.
