The M.O.S.T. (Media Oriented Systems Transport) standard was developed in 2000 by 16 major European automobile manufacturers. The standard specifies plastic optical fiber as the transmission medium for data networks in automobiles, mainly to support in-vehicle entertainment applications, thus enabling in-vehicle information transmission speeds of up to 900 Mbit/s. The standard also specifies the use of plastic optical fiber as the transmission medium for data networks in automobiles. M.O.S.T.

M.O.S.T. (Media Oriented Systems Transport) is a local area network (LAN) for interconnecting audio devices, in-car TVs, GPS and in-car telephone equipment. In the short-distance data transmission, industrial automation field occupies a dominant position, especially in the improvement of automobile safety performance and infotainment function is more important.
