How can we use tools to operate POF cable

When we'd like to produce patch cords with POF cables, we need some tools to make it.

Generally there are four steps to manufacture most of POF jusmpers.

1. Cutting, normally the diameter of POF cable in communication applications is 2.2mm or 4.4mm, simplex and duplex fiber cables. We can use cutter ( POF cleaver ) to cut the cable to get a sharp and flush end.

2. Stripping, we use POF cable stripper, in order to take off the jacket, we can have the bare fiber to connect with kinds of connectors.

3. Crimping, after that POF cable crimper will be used to tighten the metal rings. This step is very important for following tension tests.

4. Polishing, In order to have a better transmission, all patch cords will need to be polished on the ends. Here we have polishing equipments or disks etc.

Of course, above four steps are just simple basic instructions for producing a optical fiber cable with connectors like Avago, SMA905 and ST.

In a factory, there are still many processes in production and QC chain to guarantee the durability of a POF jumper.
