Fiber Optic Star Pool Floor – Installation Steps

 

Step 1:Layout & Marking​

Mark star points on the cleaned pool bottom per the design pattern.

 

Step 2:Conduit Installation​

Run a waterproof conduit from the illuminator (light source) location to the pool floor before or during gunite work.

 

Step 3:Install Star Fittings / Prep Holes​

Set stainless steel star fittings or drill small recesses for fiber ends at marked points.

 

Step 4:Pull & Distribute Fibers​

Feed fiber optic strands through the conduit from the illuminator side, then spread and assign each strand to a star point on the pool floor.

 

Step 5:Fix & Embed Fibers​

Secure fiber ends with epoxy/sealant; embed fittings and excess fiber in the screed or plaster layer so tips sit flush with the finished surface.

 

Step 6:Apply Pool Finish​

Trowel on pool plaster, mosaic adhesive, or tile grout over the area, keeping fiber tips exposed and flush.

 

Step 7:Connect Illuminator & Test​

Couple the fiber bundle into the LED/illuminator, connect power, and test all stars for even illumination.

 

Step 8:Trim / Polish Tips (if needed)​

Lightly sand or polish exposed fiber tips to adjust brightness and ensure a smooth finish.
